Beach Cleanup - 14th October 2018

The Sathya Sai International Organization North Coast Region, Kzn, South Africa. Beach Clean Up On The 14th October 2018.

Thirty eight sevadals set out to Implement the SSIOSA focus of promoting the GO GREEN initiatives at Centre Level The Young Adults, in driving a Go Green way of living, planned a beach clean up at Westbrook Beach Tongaat. The morning commenced with an opening prayer and a bhajan session before the Seva Prayer was recited. The president of the Centre then outlined the ground rules to all present and the sevadals were divided into 4 groups.

Group 1 was tasked with picking up on Plastic, Group 2 Paper, Group 3 Metal and Group 4 Bottles. The work began from Westbrook beach cleaning up that area headed south. The bin bags slowly started filling up and it was a real eye opener for the sevadals to discover the amount of litter being washed up onto the shores. At the end of the allotted Seva time all the bags that were filled with dirt were collected. These bags were transported to the Seatides Sai Centre to be included in their recycling project.

The area covered was not extensive so it was suggested that the group plan another clean up and this time extend the invite to the Tongaat and Verulam Cluster so that a wider area be covered to make more of an impact. The day ended with a bring and share breakfast. It was an educational outing for the Young Adults and the Balvikas children present that morning not to litter and ensuring that all places are kept clean and tidy.

"The main objective of the Sathya Sai Organization ... is to help you recognize the divinity inherent in you. So, your duty is to emphasize the One, to experience the One in all you do or speak. Do not give importance to differences of religion, sect, status, or color. Have the feeling of one-ness permeate all your acts. Only those who do so have a place in this Organization; the rest can withdraw."
