The Palmridge Sai Centre Seva Activities

The Palmridge Sai Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa, Hosting Various Service Activities (Seva) In the Month of July 2018.

The Palmridge Sai Centre was blessed to be involved in various seva activities for the month of July 2018. On the 7th July, residents of the Montic Informal Settlement, South of Johannesburg, were presented with 60 blankets by the Palmridge Sai Centre seva team which was lovingly donated by the Benoni Sai Centre. This seva was most timely as temperatures reached an all-time low in Johannesburg during July. The Sathya Sai School in Lenasia South was abuzz with activities as many devotees in the Johannesburg Region descended on the grounds of the school to provide assistance with the school renovations. Devotees from Palmridge lovingly gave some of their time to be part of this seva activity on 14th and 15th of July.

In commemoration of Nelson Mandela Day, a devotee from the Southern Suburbs Sai Centre, donated loaves of bread to the residents of the Montic Informal Settlement. The seva team of Palmridge Sai Centre delivered and handed out this love offering to the residents on 19 July. The Johannesburg CBD Narayana seva at Palmridge was held on 21st July. Much love and fun went into the preparation of the meals. The hot meals were then distributed to men and women living on the streets of Jhb and surrounds.

On 28th July an elderly resident, “Ouma” of Edenpark finally received a long awaited cataract operation. The Palmridge Sai Centre is delighted that the operation was a success and that Ouma can now enjoy better vision. The “Fix It” programme in Palmridge is a project that was initiated to assist a few families with much needed home maintenance and repair work. The programme was in full swing on 28th and 29th July as brothers of Palmridge Sai Centre completed repair work in homes of 6 families that were identified as recipients of this programme. The Sandton Sai Centre sent a specialist team to complete certain tasks on this project. Together they successfully completed the work by end of that weekend.

"The main objective of the Sathya Sai Organization ... is to help you recognize the divinity inherent in you. So, your duty is to emphasize the One, to experience the One in all you do or speak. Do not give importance to differences of religion, sect, status, or color. Have the feeling of one-ness permeate all your acts. Only those who do so have a place in this Organization; the rest can withdraw."
