The Rylands, Milnerton And Khayelitsha Sai Centres Of The Western Cape Region, South Africa, Celebrated The Easwaramma Day Service On The 5th And 6th Of May 2018 At The Rainbow Of Hope Centre, Goodwood, Cape Town
Both days were attended by 25-30 Devotees (sevadals) to cater for 200 children from across the region. On May 5th the Kayalitsha Centre offered a loving seva with a generous donation of 171 pairs of school shoes. The Western Cape Region then joined them in contributing 214 pairs of school socks as a part of this initiative and together in the spirit of love and unity donated these pairs of shoes and socks to the children.
The cherry on the top was a loving donation of 10 violins that will now be used as part of the violin teaching programme in Kayelitsha.
Mother Easwaramma, the physical mother of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, is synonymous with children upliftment as she had expressed to Swami her desire which was then instrumental in initiating the beginning of Bal-Vikas in India which later spread worldwide through the various Sai Centres. Bal Vikas, is a Movement launched by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba to blossom the today’s children to citizens and leaders of tomorrow. This gave shape to the Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Movement – Child Development programme.
On May 6th, in the true spirit of the day, the devotees of the Western Cape Region hosted a fun day with the Rainbow of Hope, Kayelitsha and Milnerton Bal-Vikas children. The day consisted of fun and games with an element of learning through drama, practical health demonstrations and Maths quizzes. The children concluded the programme showcasing their talents with songs.
