Seventeen Sai Service Workers (Sevadals) met outside the Chris Hani Hospital at noon on the 6th May 2018. They were accompanied to the paediatric burns unit. The Head Sister of the ward allowed the sevadals to interact with the children. Catchy songs were sung to these burn victim children while playing the guitar for them. Other games and activities soon captured the full attention of the Children bringing a lot of joy and laughter to them. Each child was given a toy and some soft foods including chocolates and bananas.
The Ward was then provided with 25 pyjamas (from 0- 10 years of age) to use for any child who needed it during their stay in hospital. The paediatric ICU and other paediatric wards were then visited. Additional toys and pyjamas were distributed to these children and to the different wards respectively. The sevadals were filled with a myriad of emotions throughout this selfless service. Much gratitude was expressed to Beloved Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for granting the opportunity to serve these burn victim children within this community. The activity ended at 15h00 with every sevadal participant sharing so much of love and compassion with all the recipient children.
