The Johannesburg Sai Centre held a Mother's Day seva at the Ellandsvallei Elderly Home on the 13th of May 2018. About 21 devotees spent part of their afternoon with the 40 residents of the home. Some of the residents have mild to severe disabilities, while others have no family visiting them. Devotees spent time pampering and treating residents, while interacting and talking to them.
The seva was opened at 14:15 with the Gayathri mantra and seva prayer. Residents then moved to the common dining area and were treated to hand soaks and massages, manicures and general heart to heart conversations. Residents were then treated to tea and coffee with savoury and sweet cupcakes and muffins. Scarves and bottle caps were also given to the home. The bottle caps were contributed as a recycling opportunity with the aim of obtaining a wheel chair for the home. The seva concluded at approximately 15:35.
