Building Of Children’s Playground April 2018

On the 25th of March 2018, the Palmridge Sai Centre in Johannesburg began building a play park at the Montic Informal Settlement in Zonkizizwe. This community service (seva ) was offered to commemorate Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s annual Aradhana Mahaotsavam celebration in honor of His life and teachings.

Some 69 children live in this community and they have no formal play park facilities at all. About 25 aspirant devotees (sevadals) from the centre worked on this project. On launch day, 85 residents together with the sevadals cut the grass and removed stones and rocks from the area where the play park was to be built. By the 6th of April, the sevadals returned to the area to build a boundary wall using tyres. The ground was also flattened to prepare for the installation of the playground equipment.

On the 21st of April, the Organization’s Education in Human Values (EHV) students from the Palmridge Centre as well as the Southern Suburbs centres, joined the team to paint the tyres in bright, beautiful colours. The last stage of the project started on the 27th of April and was completed by the 5th of May. A swing, see-saw, table with chairs and a trampoline was erected.

About

"The main objective of the Sathya Sai Organization ... is to help you recognize the divinity inherent in you. So, your duty is to emphasize the One, to experience the One in all you do or speak. Do not give importance to differences of religion, sect, status, or color. Have the feeling of one-ness permeate all your acts. Only those who do so have a place in this Organization; the rest can withdraw."
