An international Public Outreach committee has been established to motivate and help members of the Sathya Sai Organisations all over the world to fulfill the responsibility of spreading Sathya Sai teachings among all mankind. 4 sub-committees were formed to develop guidelines and strategies to increase the awareness of Bhagavan Shri Sathya Sai Baba’s spiritual teachings.

With the divine blessings from Bhagawan Shri Sathya Sai Baba the SSIOSA has formed a Public Outreach Committee of South Africa (POC-SA) to spread the universal message in South Africa. The POC have the four sub-committees to achieve these goals:

Public Meetings: The SSIOSA will arrange effective public meetings to share Bhagawan Shri Sathya Sai Baba’s message and His love with local communities on a regular basis. New-comers will be welcomed and given information about SSIOSA activities.

Walk for Values: The SSIOSA will host Walk for Values, where it is accepted by the community. This is a fun-filled community activity, which promotes human values in a subtle way.

Interfaith: Inspired by the teaching of Bhagawan Shri Sathya Sai Baba, where activities are arranged to understand the unity of all religions, and to foster an environment where followers of different religions serve together in harmony.

Community Engagements: The SSIOSA will actively engage with communities to serve their practical needs. This is done by collaborating with community structures to establish sustainable community development projects.

I do not want the impression to gain ground that I desire this name and this form to be publicised. I have not come to set afoot a new cult; I do not want people to be misled on this point.” "I want publicity for the teachings and the message. I want publicity for the philosophy, not publicity for the person; that is more important. About me there is no need to talk.

(Sathya Sai’s message to the Editors and Publishers Conference at Prasanthi Nilayam, July 19–20, 2005)

"The main objective of the Sathya Sai Organization ... is to help you recognize the divinity inherent in you. So, your duty is to emphasize the One, to experience the One in all you do or speak. Do not give importance to differences of religion, sect, status, or color. Have the feeling of one-ness permeate all your acts. Only those who do so have a place in this Organization; the rest can withdraw."
