Western Cape Region, Guru Purnima 2018

Guru Purnima Celebration offered to Sri Sathya Sai Baba on 27 July 2018 at the Shri Radha Krishna Cultural Hall, Gatesville, Western Cape, South Africa

The Guru Purnima Celebrations commenced with a powerful Gayathri Havan held on Thursday 26th July 2018. The main Guru Purnima celebration was observed by the Region on Friday, 27th July 2018  from 19h00 to 21h00.

Peach & Apple Green Deco adorned the venue with beautiful floral arrangements – all in keeping with the Go-Green Conference that was being held in Prashanthi Nilayam over this Guru Purnima. 

The programme commenced with Vedic Chanting followed by a melodious Ganesha Bhajan. A Video of Dr Narendranath Reddy, Chairman of Prasanthi Council, Sathya Sai International Organization, India , was then viewed for a few minutes. A warm welcome & the significance of Guru Purnima was extended to 130 attendees.

The Rylands Sai Center Balvikas Children presented a loving Tribute to all Gurus and Prominent Leaders. The Sai Blossoms from Khayelitsha Sai Center rendered Vedic Chants to Swami which elevated everyones spirits. The Balvikas Children from Milnerton Sai Center then rendered a tribute to Swami, ending with beautiful bhajans.

Another video with Swami’s message on "Who is a Guru" was showcased. 

In conclusion a Sikh Chant merged with a Medley of Bhajans which spiritually charged all the Devotees to a heightened state.

The Programme concluded with arathi (holy flame)  offered to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and the chanting of Samasta Loka (blessings to the whole world).
